Pete & Laura had a lovely day to tie the knot! I started the day off with the guys in Blyth and then was on to meet the girls at Laura’s parent’s farm just outside of Brussels. A great day all in all! Here are a few of my favourite photos of the day. I absolutely loved Laura’s gown… such a unique dress by Adele Wechsler. Beautiful pictures!       It was a gorgeous evening when I made the trip to Hamilton to take Sandy & Jessica’s engagement photos. They are getting married at Benmiller Inn this September, but wanted their engagement photos done in their neighbourhood. I always enjoy the adventure of shooting somewhere new, so I jumped at the chance to shoot at some of their favourite spots. We started out at their condo… a cool old school house that has been converted into lofts. Love it!
From there we headed out to one of Jess’s favourite running trails. A great spot. You’d hardly even know you were still in the city!
And then we were off to Sandy’s favourite spot to golf – The Beverly. Such a beautiful course! It was fairly late in the evening and the course was empty. A photographer’s dream come true!
And then the sun started to set and the light was absolutely gorgeous! Such a fun evening! Thanks for showing me around some of your favourite spots Jess & Sandy! Can’t wait for your wedding in few weeks! Jenny & Rod have a lovely wedding! From their ceremony at Mt. Carmel Catholic church right through to their reception at Westhaven Golf & Country Club – everything went off without a hitch. As always Natalie & her team at Village Vine’s did a fabulous job of the flowers. Here are just a few of my favourite shots. It’s been an incredible week… last weekend I captured Rod & Jenny’s wedding. I’ve had 2 fun family shoots and a gorgeous e-session, and with my kids home from school on summer vacation.. and all of this has put me a bit behind schedule. I’ll be posting Rod & Jenny’s wedding slideshow first thing next week, for now here’s a little sneak peak of what’s to come!!
Have a fabulous weekend everyone! I love it when couples take a few minutes from their wedding reception to go outside for just a few minutes right at sunset for some photos… just the two of them. Often it’s the first chance they’ve had all day to really chat, and be by themselves. Sarah & Justin decided to take some sunset photos, and being that their reception was just a few minutes walk from the beach, well it just made sense to take advantage of the beautiful sunset on the lake. Love these images. Some of my favourites of the entire day. The beautiful part is these could be taken anywhere… the beach is beautiful, but if your reception isn’t near the lake try and picture the same photos in a field of long grass, or on the top of hill… gorgeous. I hope more of my couples take advantage of the sunset light for a few minutes alone and a few photos!!

Love the suggestion, Sandra! I always encourage my couples to take a few minutes alone together at some point – the day just goes by too fast otherwise! I’ve even worked with a photographer who puts in his contract that the bride and groom MUST go with him to a secluded spot directly following the ceremony for some alone time and some special pictures. These photos are beautiful! |
